1976 ELDORADO CONVERTIABLE

The ninth generation extended from 1971 to 1978 and retained a big 500 cubic-inch 8.2-liter V8 engine at the beginning. It gained a heavier appearance and could be had in both coupe and (until 1977) convertible body styles. The sales achieved a record.

As such, the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado would be the last (of that generation) to be offered as a convertible. The brand even promoted it as "the last American convertible," which may have boosted its sales to 14,000.

Our project started with the purchase just after COVID-19 had shut everything down. Restarting the project in Summer 2022 and hoping to have the body completed by end of 2022. Here are some pictures of the journey along the way to getting this beauty back on the road with the top down and the wind blowing in the fresh paint job.
